BrandMentions is a web and social monitoring tool from the Romanian company GESKIMO SRL that collects mentions of your brand in news, blogs, forums, social networks and review sites. It suits small marketing, PR and SEO teams and agencies who want to monitor online mentions at an open price. Data location, DPA and a German interface are not documented. According to the pricing page, BrandMentions starts at 79 USD per month when billed annually, with a 7-day trial (as of October 2026).
What is BrandMentions?
BrandMentions is a monitoring tool that captures mentions of brands and keywords on the web and evaluates them with sentiment and reports. This means online sources: news, blogs, forums, websites, social networks and review sites.
According to the terms of service, the contracting party is GESKIMO SRL, based in Iași, Romania. So you sign the contract with a company inside the EU, although billing is still in US dollars. The tool’s website is at brandmentions.com.
According to the About page, Razvan Gavrilas launched the tool in 2015. The company behind it is older: GESKIMO SRL is listed there with a registration from 2005. According to the vendor sources, scheduling, publishing or replying to posts is not part of the documented scope.
What can BrandMentions do?
BrandMentions searches for mentions and evaluates them; the range of functions depends heavily on the plan you book. According to the help centre, the tool captures online news and press releases in full text, blogs, forums and Q&A sites, as well as social networks, public profiles and influencer accounts.
| Area | What the sources document |
|---|---|
| Sources | News, press releases, blogs, forums, Q&A sites, social networks, videos |
| Reviews | Google Business, Facebook Reviews, App Store, Play Store, Tripadvisor, Booking, Yelp |
| Search | Boolean search from Expert and in Enterprise |
| Analysis | AI sentiment, multilingual from Pro; influencer report, competitor analysis, audience demographics from Expert |
| Alerts | Email according to the home page; Slack, webhook and RSS according to the About page |
| Reports | Excel export in all plans, standard reports from Pro, white label from Expert |
| Technology | API only in Enterprise |
How fresh the data is depends on the plan. According to the pricing page, Starter updates daily, Pro hourly, and only Expert in real time.
According to the help centre, you switch sources on or off individually per project, separated into social, video, discussions and web. That helps if a brand is mainly discussed in forums and social results only add noise. The look-back is tiered too: 3 months of historical data in Starter, 6 in Pro, 12 in Expert, and complete data only in Enterprise.
According to the pricing page, an AI assistant is included from Pro, but the page does not describe its scope in detail. The help centre does not list exactly which social networks are covered. Print, TV, radio and podcasts are not documented as sources, and neither is image recognition.
Who is BrandMentions for, and who is it not for?
BrandMentions suits smaller marketing, PR and SEO teams who want to follow online mentions of their brand and their competitors and need a public price for it. According to the help centre, review sites as optional sources are interesting for hotels, apps or local businesses who want to keep an eye on reviews on Tripadvisor, Booking or the App Store.
According to the pricing page, agencies can create separate projects per brand or client, up to 10 in the Pro plan. White-label reports, which let you pass on analyses under your own name, are available from Expert.
BrandMentions is less suitable if you need to monitor newspapers, television or radio; providers under media monitoring are meant for that. Large teams on the entry plan also quickly hit limits: according to the pricing page, Starter has 1 user and daily updates. If you have corporate requirements such as SSO or documented security certificates, you will find no information on them in the vendor sources.
How much does BrandMentions cost?
BrandMentions publishes its prices and bills in US dollars. According to the pricing page, the Starter plan costs 79 USD per month when billed annually, and Enterprise starts at 1,099 USD per month. The page does not say whether prices are net or gross.
The plans are tiered by keywords, mentions per month, projects and users. According to the pricing page, you get up to 3 months free when paying annually. According to the pricing page FAQ, you pay nothing extra if you exceed a limit.
The pricing page mentions no free plan. According to the vendor, you can test Starter, Pro and Expert free for 7 days (“Try free for 7 days”), and Enterprise is available via a demo. All plans with their scope are in the pricing overview, as of October 2026.
Data protection and DACH: servers, DPA, language
Where BrandMentions stores your data is not documented: the privacy policy names no hosting or processing location. According to the terms of service, the contracting party GESKIMO SRL is based in Romania and therefore in the EU.
The privacy policy refers to the GDPR, including Art. 28 on processing on behalf. However, it does not explicitly mention an offer of a data processing agreement. According to our research, the vendor does not publish sub-processors or security certifications such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2, and SSO is not documented either.
A German interface for the app and German-language support are not documented in the vendor sources. The pricing page leaves open whether the multilingual sentiment analysis from Pro also includes German. For teams in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, several questions therefore remain open. So clarify data location, DPA and language with the vendor in writing before buying and have the answers confirmed.
Our assessment
Under our methodology, BrandMentions is an online monitoring tool with open prices, a short trial period and a broad choice of sources for web, social and review sites. That puts it among the web monitoring tools you can try without a sales conversation.
Deductions arise in data protection and DACH topics: data location, DPA, certifications and a German interface are not documented. Then there is the tiering, because Boolean search and real time are only available from Expert, and the API only in Enterprise.
Our assessment: if you want to follow mentions in news, blogs, forums and reviews on a small budget, the 7-day trial is worthwhile. If you are looking for social listening with documented networks, you are better off comparing the social media monitoring tools. On OMR Reviews, BrandMentions has 4.5 out of 5 stars from only 1 review (retrieved 16.10.2026). This does not count towards our score.

Questions about BrandMentions
How much does BrandMentions cost?
According to the pricing page, BrandMentions costs from 79 USD per month in the Starter plan when billed annually, and Enterprise starts at 1,099 USD per month (as of October 2026). The plans differ by keywords, mentions, projects and users. Paying annually gets you up to 3 months free. The page does not say whether prices are net or gross.
Is BrandMentions free?
No, the BrandMentions pricing page mentions no free plan. But you can test the Starter, Pro and Expert plans free for 7 days, according to the vendor with cancellation at any time. You get to know the Enterprise plan through a demo. After that the paid plan applies, starting at 79 USD per month when billed annually (as of October 2026).
What happens if I exceed the mention limit?
According to the pricing page FAQ, BrandMentions charges no extra costs if you exceed the limit on mentions or keywords. The limit depends on the plan: Starter allows 5,000 mentions per month, Pro 30,000 and Expert 75,000. In Enterprise you set the limits individually. The pricing page does not describe how BrandMentions handles an overrun technically.
Does BrandMentions comply with the GDPR?
We give no legal assessment, and only individual points are documented. According to the terms of service, the contracting party is GESKIMO SRL in Romania, so a vendor in the EU. The privacy policy refers to the GDPR including Art. 28, but names neither a data location nor explicitly a data processing agreement. Certifications are not documented.
Where is the vendor of BrandMentions based?
According to the terms of service, BrandMentions is run by GESKIMO SRL, based in Iași, Romania. According to the About page, Razvan Gavrilas launched the tool in 2015, and the company is listed there with a registration from 2005. For you this means: you sign the contract with a company in the EU but still pay in US dollars.
Is BrandMentions available in German?
A German interface for BrandMentions is not documented in the vendor sources, and neither is German-language support. According to the pricing page, the sentiment analysis is multilingual from the Pro plan, but the vendor does not list which languages are included. Whether German-language mentions are recognised well is best checked yourself in the 7-day trial.
Which sources does BrandMentions monitor?
According to the help centre, BrandMentions monitors online news and press releases in full text, blogs, forums, Q&A sites, social networks, public profiles and influencer accounts. Optional review sites are added on top. You activate the sources individually per project. The help centre does not list exactly which social networks are included; print, TV, radio and podcasts are not documented.
Does BrandMentions also monitor review sites?
Yes, according to the help centre you can add review sites as sources in BrandMentions. Named are Google Business, Facebook Reviews, App Store, Play Store, Tripadvisor, Booking and Yelp. This is useful for hotels, app providers or local businesses who want to collect reviews alongside mentions in news and social media in one project.
Does BrandMentions have real-time alerts?
Yes, but according to the pricing page real-time updates are only available from the Expert plan. In the Starter plan BrandMentions updates the data daily, in the Pro plan hourly. According to the home page, notifications arrive by email, and the About page also names alerts via Slack, webhooks and RSS. If you need to react quickly to crises, choose the plan accordingly.
How far back does BrandMentions data go?
According to the pricing page, how far back BrandMentions looks depends on the plan. Starter includes 3 months of historical data, Pro 6 months and Expert 12 months. Complete historical data is only available in the Enterprise plan. If you want to analyse a brand retrospectively over a longer period, this is an important difference when choosing a plan.
Does BrandMentions support Boolean search?
Yes, according to the pricing page BrandMentions has Boolean search from the Expert plan and in the Enterprise plan. It is not included in Starter and Pro. With Boolean operators you narrow down search terms more precisely and filter out results that have nothing to do with your brand. For ambiguous brand names, this is often decisive.
Does BrandMentions have an API?
Yes, according to the pricing page BrandMentions has an API, but only in the Enterprise plan from 1,099 USD per month when billed annually (as of October 2026). The help centre has its own section on API and integrations. For alerts, the About page names Slack, webhooks and RSS. An MCP server for AI assistants is not documented.
Is BrandMentions suitable for agencies?
BrandMentions suits agencies who want to monitor several brands separately. According to the pricing page, you create separate projects per brand or client, 3 in the Starter plan and 10 in the Pro plan. White-label reports are available from Expert with 10 users. Approval workflows and automatically sent reports are not clearly documented in the vendor sources.
What are the alternatives to BrandMentions?
Which alternative to BrandMentions fits depends on what you are missing. For print, TV and radio you need a provider from media monitoring. Comparable tools for online mentions are in the list of web monitoring tools. You will find three alternatives under our methodology further down, and you can filter more tools in the tool finder.
