IN SHORT

Swat.io is a social media management tool from Swat.io GmbH in Vienna with a Publisher for planning and publishing, and Inbox, Insights and Monitoring as add-ons. It suits companies and agencies in the German-speaking region that care about EU data storage and approvals. According to the pricing page, the Publisher plan Small starts at €39 net per month, and the inbox costs extra (as of October 2026). A permanently free plan is not documented.

Swat.io bundles planning, inbox and reporting, but sells the inbox, extended insights and monitoring as add-ons. All information comes from vendor sources, as of 13.10.2026.

What is Swat.io?

Swat.io is social media management software whose core is the Publisher for planning and publishing; according to the pricing page, Inbox, Insights and Monitoring are booked as add-ons. According to the legal notice, the vendor is Swat.io GmbH, based in Vienna, founded in 2010 according to the company page. The home page mentions over 18,000 users in some places and over 20,000 in others; the vendor does not give a consistent figure.

According to the help centre, Swat.io connects Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Threads and Bluesky. According to the integrations page, the inbox also connects WhatsApp, Google reviews and email inboxes.

What can Swat.io do?

According to the pricing page and help centre, Swat.io covers five areas, many of them as add-ons or only from a certain plan.

AreaWhat is documentedIn the plan or add-on
Planningcontent calendar, AI assistant for text suggestions, optimisation and translationin the Publisher plan
Teamapproval workflows, area roles for Inbox, Publisher and Insights, channel-specific permissions, several workspacesapprovals from Medium, external approvals only Custom and Agency
Communityinbox with direct messages from Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp, among others, ticket assignment, sentiment of commentsInbox as add-on, assignment from Inbox Medium, sentiment from Large
Reportingdashboards, export as PDF or Excel, automated reportsInsights Advanced (€79 per month) from Medium or Premium Insights
Monitoringweb monitoring with news, blogs and forums, Boolean search with AND, OR, NOT and NEAR, shitstorm and keyword alertsonly in Custom packages, partner Ubermetrics, price on request

Several features are not documented in our data: bulk scheduling via CSV, a mobile app, SSO, influencer detection and historical monitoring data. The same applies to print, TV, radio and podcasts as monitoring sources. According to the feature page, you track competitors only via keywords in the monitoring add-on; profile benchmarking is not documented. Not documented means we found no evidence on the website and in the help centre; it does not automatically mean the feature is missing. The integrations page names integrations for Canva, Google Drive, Dropbox and Unsplash.

The vendor itself names documented limits. According to the help centre, posts cannot be boosted directly in Swat.io; that runs via Meta Business Suite. LinkedIn direct messages of personal profiles can only be viewed in LinkedIn.

For corporate influencer programmes, according to the solution page, participants’ posts run in the shared content calendar with approvals. According to the integrations page, there is an API with developer documentation, and AI Connect (MCP) from Medium.

Who is Swat.io for, and who is it not for?

Swat.io suits teams that need a German interface, EU data storage and approval workflows and want to handle channels such as WhatsApp or Google reviews in one inbox. Several workspaces let you separate brands or clients; in the Custom package, agencies get external approvals and a dedicated contact person.

Swat.io is a weaker fit if you want to manage many channels on a small budget. According to the pricing page, Small includes 3 channels and 2 users; each additional channel costs €25 and each additional person €20 per month. If you are looking for social listening as a core feature, you have to request a Custom package. Corporations that require SSO or a mobile app will find no evidence for either in our data.

How much does Swat.io cost?

According to the pricing page, Swat.io costs from €39 net per month for the Publisher plan Small, as of October 2026. Medium and Large cost more, and Custom and Agency start at €599 per month. According to the pricing page, Swat.io prices are 10 % cheaper with a 12-month term.

The inbox is a separate add-on and, according to the pricing page, costs the same again as the respective Publisher plan. If you need Publisher and Inbox in Small, you therefore pay €78 net per month. Monitoring and Premium Insights are only available on request. According to the pricing page, the trial runs for 21 days without payment details and without automatic renewal; a permanently free plan is not documented in our data.

How does it handle data protection and DACH suitability?

According to the Compliance Hub, Swat.io stores data in the EU, and the pricing page names servers in Germany. According to the AI assistant page, the AI features run via Claude on Amazon Bedrock in AWS Frankfurt, and according to the vendor customer data is not used for training. The Compliance Hub names a standard DPA in German and English and a certification to ISO/IEC 27001:2022. We do not give a legal assessment.

According to the help centre, the interface can be set to German or English, and the help centre is available in German. According to the German service page, Swat.io offers live chat during office hours, and the vendor is based in Vienna. Whether sentiment detection covers German texts is not documented in our data.

Our assessment

Based on the documented facts, Swat.io is a management tool with a clear DACH profile: German interface, EU servers, German DPA and an ISO certification. For companies and agencies that need approvals and a shared inbox with WhatsApp, we consider Swat.io a suitable option.

We take a critical view of the pricing model. Inbox, extended insights and monitoring each cost extra, approvals only come from Medium, and sentiment detection only from Large. You only track competitors via the monitoring add-on, and evidence is missing for bulk scheduling, a mobile app and SSO. Before buying, work out which add-ons your team actually needs. How we weigh the facts is set out in the methodology.
