IN SHORT

Otterly.AI is a specialised AI visibility tool from Austria: it measures how often ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot name your brand and which sources they cite. It suits marketing and SEO teams that want to answer exactly this question. According to the pricing page, Otterly.AI does not monitor social media, news or blogs. According to the pricing page, the entry plan costs USD 29 per month, with a 7-day trial (as of October 2026).

What is Otterly.AI?

Otterly.AI is a Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) tool that, according to the vendor, measures how often and how brands appear in the answers of AI search engines. It counts mentions, position compared with competitors, tone and the pages a model cites as a source.

Otterly.AI is run by OtterlyAI GmbH, based in Persenbeug, Austria, according to the legal notice. According to the about page, the product launched as an AI search monitoring tool in October 2024. That makes Otterly.AI one of the young vendors in a market that is itself only a few years old.

How such measurements work and where they reach their limits is explained in our overview of AI visibility tools.

What can Otterly.AI do?

Otterly.AI sends defined prompts to several AI search engines every day and analyses the answers. You cannot use it to plan posts, answer comments or collect mentions in social networks; according to the pricing page, the tool measures only answers from AI search engines.

AreaWhat the sources document
AI search enginesChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot; Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude as add-ons
MetricsBrand Visibility Index, share of voice, domain ranking
Analysissentiment in AI answers, competitor tracking, cited sources (citation source tracking)
AuditsGEO audits of individual URLs
Reportsdetailed reports and export; connector for Google Looker Studio from Standard
TechnologyAPI and MCP server from Standard, SSO only in Enterprise

For PR and content teams, the source analysis is the most important part. According to the pricing page, it shows which websites a model cites when it answers about your brand or industry. From that, you can work out where press work or your own content pays off.

According to the pricing page, you can create unlimited brands and competitors, and from Standard also any number of workspaces. Otterly.AI controls the volume of measurement through the number of prompts per plan.

For AI assistants, there is an official MCP server that, according to the product page, works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other clients. According to the pricing page, the sentiment analysis refers to the tone in which AI answers describe your brand. The vendor pages do not document real-time alerts, Boolean search or a PDF export. Historical data from before your measurement starts is not documented either.

Who is Otterly.AI for, and who is it not for?

Otterly.AI suits marketing, SEO and content teams that want to measure their visibility in AI answers and compare it with competitors. Because, according to the pricing page, all plans allow unlimited team members, a larger team does not pay per head. Agencies with several clients can create unlimited workspaces from the Standard plan and measure brands separately.

Under our methodology, Otterly.AI falls into the getting started and small teams group, because the cheapest public plan costs less than USD 40 per month. The rule for corporations and enterprise is also met: SSO, API and MCP server are documented. However, SSO is only available in the Enterprise plan, and the vendor does not name its own security certification.

Otterly.AI is a weaker fit if you want to know what people write about you on Instagram, in forums or in the press. Social media monitoring tools or media monitoring providers are meant for that. If you need API and MCP, you also have to book at least the Standard plan.

How much does Otterly.AI cost?

Otterly.AI publishes its prices and bills in US dollars per month. According to the pricing page, the Lite plan starts at USD 29 per month with 15 prompts and 4 AI search engines; Enterprise is available on request. The page mentions a 15 % discount for annual payment.

The pricing model depends on the number of prompts and the AI search engines selected. According to the pricing page, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude cost extra, and the price of the add-ons rises with the plan. The page does not say whether plan prices include tax; for the add-ons it explicitly says “excluding tax”.

The pricing page shows no free plan. According to the help centre, you can test Otterly.AI for 7 days without a credit card. All plans and add-ons are in the price overview, as of October 2026.

Data protection and DACH: servers, DPA, language

The data location of Otterly.AI is mixed. According to the security page, the platform runs on AWS in Frankfurt (eu-central-1), but the vendor stores the public monitoring data in a US data centre in North Virginia. For the measured AI answers, that means they are in the USA.

The help centre describes how Otterly.AI implements the GDPR. It does not mention an offer for a data processing agreement, and the privacy policy stays general. So ask for a DPA before buying. If your prompts contain confidential product names or planned campaigns, also clarify whether they are part of the data stored in the USA. Its own certification is not documented; the security page refers to the certifications of the AWS data centres such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.

The vendor is based in Austria. Even so, the vendor pages do not document a German interface or German-language support. Whether you will be looked after in German is best clarified during the trial period.

Our assessment

Otterly.AI is a specialist tool with open prices, a low entry point and a clear job: measuring AI visibility. If that is exactly what you are looking for, the vendor pages say you get metrics, competitor comparison and source analysis from one source.

In the monitoring score under our methodology, Otterly.AI nevertheless scores lower than broad listening suites. The reason lies in its scope: the score measures monitoring as a whole, meaning source coverage, analysis, alerts and search, reporting, data protection, language, price transparency and AI connectivity. AI visibility is only a single checkpoint there, and Otterly.AI lacks social, news and blog sources. API, MCP server and public prices, on the other hand, are well documented.

Our assessment: for the question “How does ChatGPT see us?”, Otterly.AI is an obvious candidate that you can test cheaply. Before deciding, compare the AI search engines queried, the data location and access to API and MCP with Peec AI or Rankscale. On OMR Reviews, Otterly.AI has 4.81 out of 5 stars from 56 reviews (retrieved on 16.10.2026). This does not feed into our score.

How the score is calculated
