IN SHORT

Metricool is a Spanish tool for social media planning, analytics and inbox whose price depends on the number of brands. It suits freelancers, small teams and agencies that want to manage many brands at low cost. The sources show gaps in team collaboration in the inbox and in social listening. According to the pricing page, there is a permanent free plan, and paid plans start at €16 net per month with annual payment (as of October 2026).

What is Metricool?

Metricool is social media management software that lets you plan, publish and analyse posts and reply to comments. According to the legal notice, the vendor is METRICOOL SOFTWARE, SL, based in Madrid.

The Metricool about page tells the origin story like this: the project started in 2014 under the name Bloggerespacio; in 2015 it was renamed Metricool and gained its first paying user. Since 2024, Metricool has belonged to team.blue. The vendor itself speaks of over 4 million professionals using the tool; that is the vendor’s own figure without independent verification.

Important for context: Metricool is a management tool. According to the sources, it has little to do with media monitoring or broad social listening.

What can Metricool do?

According to the pricing page and help centre, Metricool covers planning, analytics, inbox, advertising and link in bio. The features by area:

AreaWhat the sources document
Planningsocial calendar, CSV import for bulk scheduling, AI assistant with credits
NetworksFacebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Threads, Bluesky, Twitch
Analyticsreports as PDF and PPT from Starter, automatic monthly sending, 5 to 100 competitors
Inboxcomments and DMs from several networks, notes
Advertisingcampaigns for Meta Ads and Google Ads directly in the tool
OtherSmartLinks (link in bio), mobile app, API from Advanced, Metricool MCP already in the free plan
IntegrationsCanva, Google Drive, Adobe Express, Zapier, Make, Looker Studio, WordPress, Shopify

Two details are in the small print. According to the pricing page, X can only be connected via an add-on for USD 10 per month and account, and LinkedIn only from the Starter plan. According to the help centre, in the inbox you answer direct messages from Facebook, Instagram and X; LinkedIn DMs are not supported. According to the pricing page, the analytics history is unlimited from Starter; in the free plan you see 30 days.

Social listening in the narrower sense is not documented. According to its own product page, Metricool sells a Hashtag Tracker for X and Instagram that follows along in real time and shows the most active accounts in a hashtag conversation. It costs USD 25 per day and does not replace monitoring brand mentions across networks and media.

Who is Metricool for, and who is it not for?

Metricool suits anyone who wants to plan and analyse several brands and spend little on it. Because, according to the pricing page, the price is tiered by brands and allows unlimited team members from Advanced, the model pays off especially for agencies and freelancers with many small clients.

If you want to manage ad campaigns for Meta and Google alongside organic posts, the help centre says you will find the function in the same tool. To get started with one brand, the pricing page says the free plan is enough, as long as 20 scheduled posts per month are enough for you and you do not need LinkedIn and X.

Metricool is a weaker fit if your team splits community management between several people. According to the help centre, you cannot assign inbox messages to a team member; there are only notes. According to the pricing page, approval workflows and roles only come with Advanced. If you use X heavily, you pay an extra USD 10 per month per account.

You are also poorly served if you want to track mentions of your brand online. Specialised social media monitoring tools are built for that.

How much does Metricool cost?

According to the pricing page, Metricool has a permanently free plan and tiers its paid plans by the number of brands. For anyone searching for “metricool free”, that means: the free plan allows 1 brand, 20 scheduled posts per month, 5 competitors and 30 days of analytics, without LinkedIn and X.

Payment starts with the Starter plan. For up to 5 brands, according to the pricing page, it costs €16 per month with annual payment or €20 with monthly payment, net in each case. Advanced with roles, approvals and API starts at €43 per month for up to 15 brands. For more brands or white label, there is the Custom plan on request.

Factor in add-ons: X, Advanced Analytics and the Hashtag Tracker cost extra. The pricing page does not mention a trial period for the paid plans. You will find all tiers of Metricool pricing in the price table, as of October 2026.

Data protection and DACH: servers, DPA, language

According to section 6 of its privacy policy, Metricool stores all data on servers in the EU and does not transfer data to third countries. The policy does not name the hosting provider.

According to the help centre, you get a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR on request, signed digitally via Adobe Acrobat Sign. We did not find a security certification such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2 in the sources. Not documented does not mean ruled out.

According to the help centre, the interface is available in 8 languages, including German. Support runs via email and in-app chat; Metricool does not say in which languages. According to the terms and conditions, you can conclude the contract in German, among other languages.

For teams in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, this means: data location and DPA are documented, while certification and German-language support remain open. Ideally, ask the vendor about both before signing.

Our assessment

By our methodology, Metricool is an inexpensive planning and analytics tool with clear limits in team collaboration. The free plan, the price per brand instead of per person and the EU servers are documented arguments for small teams and agencies in DACH.

The weaknesses show where several people work on the community together. Missing inbox assignment, approvals only from Advanced and X only at extra cost are things to check against your day-to-day work before buying.

If you are looking for Metricool reviews from other users: on OMR Reviews, the tool stands at 4.8 out of 5 stars from 19 reviews (retrieved on 13.10.2026). That is a small sample and does not feed into our score. If you are unsure whether Metricool fits your needs, the tool finder helps you compare.

Advanced with roles, approvals and API starts at €43 annually or €54 monthly for up to 15 brands. Custom with white label is available on request.

Is Metricool GDPR compliant?

We cannot give a legal assessment, but the documented facts are clear. According to the privacy policy, all data is on servers in the EU, and no international transfers take place. According to the help centre, a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is available on request. A certification such as ISO 27001 is not documented. Check with your data protection officer whether that is enough for your use.

Is Metricool available in German?

Yes, according to the help centre the Metricool interface can be switched to German, alongside 7 other languages. Metricool does not say whether support replies in German; only the email and in-app chat channels are documented. According to the terms and conditions, you can conclude the contract in German, among other languages, which helps with internal approval.

Which networks does Metricool support?

According to the pricing page, Metricool supports Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Threads and Bluesky, plus Twitch. LinkedIn is only available from the Starter plan. You can only connect X via a paid add-on that, according to the pricing page, costs USD 10 per month and account. The free plan lacks LinkedIn and X entirely.

Who is Metricool for?

Metricool suits freelancers, small teams and agencies that want to plan and analyse many brands at low cost. According to the pricing page, the price is tiered by brands rather than people, and team members are unlimited from Advanced. It is a weaker fit if several people share the inbox, because according to the help centre messages cannot be assigned.

Can you assign messages to team members in Metricool?

No, according to the help centre the Metricool inbox does not offer assignment of messages to team members. You can only attach notes to conversations to give colleagues hints. For teams that share the work of answering comments and DMs, that is a relevant limit. According to the pricing page, roles and an approval system for posts are available from the Advanced plan.

Does Metricool have approval workflows?

Yes, but only from the Advanced plan: according to the pricing page, it includes an approval system for posts and role management for team and clients. Both features are missing in Free and Starter. Can Metricool do social listening?

General social listening is not documented for Metricool. Yes, according to the help centre you create campaigns for Meta Ads and Google Ads directly in Metricool. According to the pricing page, you can also connect Facebook Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads. That way you see paid and organic posts in one place. The pricing page does not describe in detail how far control over budgets and audiences goes.

Does Metricool have a link in bio feature?

Yes, Metricool offers a link in bio page with SmartLinks, but according to the pricing page only from the Starter plan, not in the free plan.
