Why look for an alternative to Brandwatch?
The most common documented reasons for an alternative to Brandwatch are the pricing model and data location. According to its pricing page, Brandwatch publishes no prices, and you only get a quote after a demo request. The page names neither a trial nor a free tier (as of October 2026).
On data location, Brandwatch has a mixed setup according to its security page. Consumer Research processes raw data on AWS in the USA, while analysis results sit in a data centre in Hayes in the United Kingdom. Social media management runs mostly in the EU. Brandwatch documents a processing agreement and ISO 27001:2022. If your listening raw data must not be processed in the USA, you need to look more closely.
Then there are features that cost extra: according to the one-pager, print and paywall content is only available as an add-on, SSO in Consumer Research is a premium feature, and influencer search is a separate product. A German interface and German-language support are not officially documented; there is only a German-language website. The details are in the Brandwatch fact check.
What to check when you switch
When you switch from Brandwatch, the first question is whether the new solution covers your sources. Brandwatch documents blogs, forums, review sites and almost 3,000 TV and radio stations. According to its data page, Talkwalker names more than 300 review sites, with TV and radio as a broadcast add-on. Brand24, YouScan and Awario listen mainly in social networks, news, blogs and forums; they do not document print or broadcast.
Pay attention to history: Brandwatch names posts going back to 2008 (product page) or 2010 (one-pager). According to its comparison page, Talkwalker provides 13 months, while Brand24 and YouScan backfill 30 days by default. Also ask about sentiment for German texts: it is expressly documented for YouScan, and according to its help centre Brand24 processes all languages with varying accuracy. How we weight facts is explained in the methodology.
Which Brandwatch alternatives are there?
Which of the Brandwatch alternatives fits depends on your needs; the order below is not a ranking. Talkwalker, Brand24, YouScan and Awario are pure listening tools, Meltwater comes from media monitoring, Agorapulse from social media management. Sprinklr and Emplifi are suites for large teams in which listening is one building block: Sprinklr publishes no prices, and according to its pricing page Emplifi sells listening as an add-on. Both are only worth a look for enterprise needs.
